“Looking unto Jesus” … Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2.
Wherever you are today, whatever you are doing today … Look unto Jesus.
However you are feeling today, whatever the joys or disappointments … Look unto Jesus.
Centuries ago before Christ came, God’s invitation was “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other” Isaiah chapter 45 verse 22. God is the Saviour God, the only Saviour God.
Christ came to accomplish that eternal salvation through His sacrificial death on the cross and, thank God, He completed that work once and for all. Those who know Christ as Saviour are encouraged by “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2.
“Looking unto Jesus” will put all in focus today.
“Looking unto Jesus” will encourage you to know He has faced challenges and difficulties too, far greater than we will ever experience.
“Looking unto Jesus” will remind you He faced those difficulties with joy and is now honoured and glorified in heaven today.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found in Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk, till traveling days are done. (H Bonar)
